EMIS

Education Management Information System (EMIS) - is a comprehensive analysis, design, implementation, performance review and monitoring mechanism designed to assist schools in capacity building and self review. EMIS is designed by CfBTES as an essential management tool for Schools to assist them in analyzing and identifying areas which need improvement and adopt and implement a School Improvement Plan recommended by CfBTES. EMIS facilitates the collection of relevant data from schools for processing and analysis and tracks the progress of schools over a defined timeframe. It also helps owners of schools and funding agencies to make interschool comparisons on defined parameters and timeframes.

EMIS will keep the stakeholders informed of the following:

• The status of the school at the time of the baseline study
• CfBTES' recommended path of improvement
• The commitments made by the school to reach the milestones on the path of improvement and the progress made
• CfBTES' intervention and technical assistance for school improvement
• Overall progress indicators such as improved management practices
• Professional development of the teachers and better learning outcomes of students thereby improving the image of the school in the community

Student Profile:

• The Student profile is a component of EMIS and is used as a monitoring tool to track student progress and teaching learning processes of the school
• It is a document comprising of the academic and non academic achievements, strengths and preferences, attitude and aptitude of a particular child that is captured throughout their school life
• It is an interactive tool which allows the viewer to reflect on the potential of students using improvement strategies
• It lets the teachers personalize instruction
• It provides good induction material for new teachers
• It throws light on the school's standards on a class wise basis
• It provides tools for a self review on Teaching and Learning practices in school
• It is a web based software that can be accessed from anywhere across the globe that has a unique user name and password for each school
• It is an analysis tool for schools that makes it easy to track progress/ changes
• It saves paper and the data can be stored indefinitely by virtue of being an electronic database
