Finding that a majority of schools serving low-income families did not have the resources to take up infrastructure related improvements, CfBT explored possibilities of partnerships with financial institutions for capacity building in such schools, and HSBC was quick to respond to the perceived need. ‘EQUIP’: Enabling Quality Improvement Programmes in schools is a combination of financial assistance from HSBC and educational support from CfBT for all-round quality improvement in schools serving low-income families. Around 50 schools in Hyderabad and Chennai have benefited under this scheme. The progress of the schools is being tracked and monitored by CfBTES with EMIS (Education Management Information System), a web-based software, developed specifically for this purpose.
